I have neither blogged nor written poetry for good bit now. And I cannot tell you why. I hope that everyone has a splendid 2014. Remi came into my life a couple of weeks ago. This was a choice, I asked Remi to join me. For some reason when my father died in 2003 I found and purchased several, beautiful, handmade Teddy Bears. Why did I capitalize those two words? Perhaps it is a sign of their importance to me. This past December I purchased two more, I simply love what they represent to me, all of which can be found in the tags.
The holidays have come and gone
Our visitors have left
Loneliness has settled in
I knew that loneliness was unfounded
And sorrow just wasn’t real
But I longed for someone
Then I saw his face online
He was beautiful
It love at first sight
Now he has come to live with me
Filling my heart with joy
We play together having teddy bear teas
He arrived from Holland
His mother is an artist
Remi is my sweetness
Rasa his mother has asked me to write
Write about her teddys
Give them a voice
I am excited about that
Remi has many stories of his mother
I think that is where we shall start
Remi – sitting upon my desk.

There’s something special about teddy bears. 🙂
Teddy Bears…they are comforting. May Remi have many stories to tell.
ha. teddy bears are def comforting…and they hearken back to our childhood as well…and the feelings of that time…remi is def cute…i look forward to hearing what stories you find along the way….
That is one smart looking bear! What a wonderful inspiration for more stories, as yet untold.
I think this bear may be the perfect source of inspiration, Liz! (And what a beautiful bear it is!)
Oh he is so lovely. I love his jauntily-angled hat. Looking forward to the tales he will inspire.
Remi is adoration-worthy. obviously! write some more about him and his adventures?
I shall. Now encouraged! Thanks Marian!
Teddy bears are very comforting ~ Looking forward to his stories and he is cute, smiles ~
It is good to find comfort where one can. I wish you and Remi comfort and joy. It seems to me that Remi will help you unlock and give voice to your thoughts.
Comfort indeed. You have brought to mind some important values for me. These are things that I had not thought about in some time. Thanks Naomi!
Oh I love teddy bears.. they have such an important role to fill…. and may there be many stories to tell
Nice to meet you, Remi!
smiles.. it’s nice to meet remi and how you give him a voice through your words… my son had a penguin when he was a kid… he still slept with him in bed during his teenage years and has now moved out with him to his first own flat..
He is beautiful I’m glad you’re writing again, too.
Lovely teddy bear! I enjoyed reading about your relation with Remi, Liz! Any reason why you gave him this name?
He came to me from Holland already named.
What a wonderful thing to arrive at just the right time!
A great place to start. I’d like to learn more about him and his mother and his new owner.
Hello Remi! Sometimes, when nothing moves for me, I find it best not to try to make it move–enjoy your time with Remi and may your heart feel light this year
I enjoyed this so very much. Excellent poem and you can go wrong with a teddy bear can you.
Very nice. Whimsical! I like it. My cousin used to collect teddy bears, her whole life until she died of cancer. Now I have one of her bears to keep me company. 🙂
Remi, so nice to see and to hear about you again!
He is a handsome fellow. I hope he will whisper lovely stories for you to write down.
never too old for another Teddy
I still have some of my teddy bears, including a very ragged one. He’s preserved in an airtight container though. I’d love to hear a poem written in Remi’s voice!
I didn’t write our poem this week, that was my teammate, MJ. Next week it’s my turn. Our poem is at the first website, the second one is just where to find me, if you care to.

Thanks for letting me know.
Very nice to meet Remi. This is my first time reading your work. I look forward to more!
Thanks so much. Remi might share his life … he also has house mates who might come by and share their lives.
After my own heart … I collect teddy bears as well — when I go into a store — they often “speak to me” and tell me “I MUST bring them home” … teddy bears are usually the first gift I bring a newborn! They have provided me years of comfort. 😀 xoxo
My friend you and I share heart pieces. Hugs!
I remember my Teddy. He was flattened, a bit worn, had one orange eye missing. Looked for him one day and found my Mom had given him away. I was so sad – she said he was worn out. I have all my children’s “first” loves – a bear, a doll, a bug, a pillow (2 haven’t relinquished theirs yet) I guess I have a sentimental heart. 🙂
Having a sentimental heart is the only way to go. You learned a great lesson and painful one too when your mom got rid of your things. You can be ever so proud for keeping things of your own kids for them. Wow that was a really bad sentence.
I’m not the grammar police 🙂 I DO get rid of things, as no packrat am I. However, I think I am even more sentimental of things than my kids are! 🙂
Margaret one day very far from now they will have ever so much appreciation for it.
Bears have so much love to give – love these fluffy friends.
They give lots of hugs!
He’s darling. I have quite a collection too, Liz. They make me smile.
Be well in 2014. 🙂
i truly believe the more things we love in life..the greater the opportunity for HOPEIS…
I like Polar Bears..had one when i was young..and was so attached to that Bear..it was only a close second to my family…
That Love is real..there is no doubt about it..for me..
Sometimes i feel the same about my bed and pillow..or all the things that give me comfort in life..yes even a hot shower..and all of that2….
Happy New year to a ya2!014..2
Wow! You are very cool. I LOVE what you have said! Thank you. I agree with you.
So sweet. You made me smile. Happy New Year 🙂
